Milan · Fashion Metropolis

We spent a day and a half in Milan, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The only tourist attraction we had pre-booked tickets for was the Duomo, and we have absolutely no regrets. The mesmerizing architecture, entirely crafted from marble, was truly captivating to behold.

Food in Milan

During our time in Milan, we made several food stops, and I was astounded by the consistently delicious and authentic taste of the restaurants we visited. It made me realize that if it were solely for the food, I could live a blissful life in Italy. However, upon reflection, I also remembered having remarkably similar-tasting Italian cuisine back in Vancouver.

Osteria da Fortunata

When it comes to rating my favourite Italian pasta, this one takes the crown. Situated in a different neighbourhood of Milan, a short distance from Duomo, it offers remarkably fresh pasta with an incredibly flavorful sauce.

The taste lingers on my palate, reminding me of its deliciousness.

Additionally, we had our Burrata dish at this place, as recommended by a friend, and it was absolutely astounding!

Nottingham Forest

It's quite amusing that out of all the bars on my list, this was the only one we actually visited during our trip. It wasn't due to a lack of desire, but rather because we were quite exhausted by the end of each day and not in the mood for drinking. Surprisingly, the abundance of food played a role as well. We indulged ourselves to the point of being too full to accommodate any additional drinks in our stomachs.

The bar we went to was pretty cool and boasted a wide selection of beverages. It is rated top 50 bars of the world. They had themed drinks, such as the Star Wars cocktail served in a Star Wars mask, which was quite impressive. I opted for their popular drink, featuring a rubber duck in a mini bathtub, allowing me to place the duck myself. While the cocktails were enjoyable, I found them a tad too sweet for my liking. These days, I've transitioned to preferring stronger liqueurs. It's funny how tastes change, isn't it? LOL

For the remainder of our time, we leisurely wandered through the city, seeking out shops to explore and activities to engage in. In hindsight, I wish we had booked more distinctive experiences, as it became somewhat mundane to aimlessly stroll without any specific plans. We ventured into a couple of vintage stores, considering Milan's reputation as a fashion destination. While one store had a few unique pieces, most of the shops were lacking remarkable finds. In comparison, I found that the stores in Paris and London offered a more extensive selection.
